Finca La Emperatriz Parcela Nº1 2012 Blog Detail

Finca La Emperatriz Parcela nº1 is a DO Rioja white wine produced by Finca La Emperatriz. This winery produces two types of wine: one which blends varieties from different plots, and another with varieties from the same plot. In the case of Finca La Emperatriz Garnacha, grapes from a single plot of land (plot number 1) are selected. This wine is a single varietal Tempranillo (100 percent). The master harvester selects grapes with low yields (with a maximum of four bunches per cordon). The grapes must pass an extremely rigorous organoleptic analysis. The grapes arrive at the sorting table twenty minutes after being cut. The leaves are discarded together with the imperfect grapes. Later, they are stored in tanks of different sizes and materials (wood, stainless steel and barrels without heads) where they ferment and macerate. Finally,the wine ages for 18 months in new french oak fine grain barrels.
